Safer Place to Shop ― 2022/01/30
As the new infection cases are hopelessly increasing, I have been on my sixth no-AEON period trying to avoid crowded places as much as possible.
Until the fifth surge of infections, I used to shop at Nishitetsu Store, believing it is the least busy store in this area, but it seems that people started thinking the same as I did and the store no longer feels safe.
Then, my husband has reported that a grocery store annexed to a local railway station stocked fine stuff and was much less crowded than any other stores.
It might get busy in the late afternoon with commuters who need a quick shopping, but in the morning (it opens at 8:30 AM) the store was quiet. When I visited at around 9:30, I came across only a couple of elderlies who seemingly looked for something for their lunch.
I believe the important thing now should be shopping safely, not getting mixed with lots of strangers who potentially carry the virus. So shopping there felt quite comfortable.
Although you can't expect full range of the finest food on earth, I reckon their food is better than I thought. Particularly fresh fish and the variety of meat (though I have never seen the shoulder of pork there, I don't know why) can beat other big-name supermarkets.
Oh, I was about to forget to note that there is a stuff member, possibly the store manager, who always wears his mask on the chin and announces something at the top of his voice. So I have to avoid bumping into him by all means, which is like a real-world Super Mario Brothers. You can't know where and when he appears.
