Today's Catch - 20090924 ― 2009/09/25

A good catch ! All babies, though.
It took longer to line them for this photograph than to actually catch them.

Roasted Barley Tea ― 2009/09/25

Today the temperature reached 30 Celsius again.
Summer has come back to this town in the end of September.
I have to return to my old summer staple, barley tea, which is basically roasted barley.
Due to the temperature and potential of water contamination (of course you can drink tap water in Japan, but just in case), I hesitate to drink anything without boiling. In this regard barley tea is ideal for me, as I decoct the tea for 3minutes on the gas. After letting the huge kettle (about 3 litres ), in which the tea had been decocted, cool under running water, you can keep it in fridge up to 24 hours (maybe longer, but I haven’t tried). You can have a Caffeine-free and no calorie drink with fabulous aroma anytime you would like.
