Buckwheat Grain
Did you think I'm a Veg person who is against refined or processed food, when you saw the title of this entry?
If so, you are entirely wrong.
I love sticky Japanese white rice (and fast food, too, needless to say). I’m happy to eat a big bowl of rice with a few pieces of salty pickles. This is a bit of problem: I tend to eat too much.

I used to boast of my huge appetite and stomach, which can store 5 bowls of rice at once. However, being middle-aged, I became more prone to getting fatter. So I try not to eat more than a bowl of rice during one meal. Adding buckwheat grain and brown rice to white rice is a good solution to reduce the amount of rice because they make my rice chewier and I can feel full quicker. The appearance of rice will be a little less appetising than sparkling white rice, which is also good to contorl my appetite.

Plus, buckwheat grains are rich in fibre, so eating them can prevent constipation.
But be warned, too much buckwheat in rice will make your rice lose its stickiness, and result in crumbly rice with which you can’t make rice balls.
