Where I Wanted to Go ― 2025/01/31
My hectic days due to the mini moving from Sapporo are finally (hopefully) been over, I have had my 18-year-old mamachari fully serviced, and there is no snow or slippery roads here. It's time to go where I have been missing.

Lunch set (with orange juice), 690 yen
Domdom Humberger is by no means gourmet burger, but once I found that this chain doesn't have brunch in Hokkaido, I started to miss it.

Coffee 400 yen (no refill available)
A cafe on the roof garden of a local bank's employee training centre (although I have closed my account with the bank in question). It's so nice to have a piping-hot coffee in the fresh, crisp air. Perhaps due to a newly opened cafe nearby, this place was not so crowded, which was also nice for me. There were a few of obachans enjoying their afternoon coffee like me.

Hello! It was so good to hear from you. That is great that you can move back and forth across the country. The last time I was in Japan was May 2023. That’s when we visited Hakodate. I didn’t want to travel until all the Covid restrictions were lifted. We are planning to visit Chiba in May 2025. We aren’t visiting any tourist hot spots so I hope the Japanese public won’t mind. We want to see beaches, a castle or two, eat the food, and enjoy the ambience. I want to let you know I did not vote for Donald Trump and I never have. I don’t like him and I don’t think he is a good person. It will be a long 4 years. I try to ignore his activities. Planning a trip is helpful as is spending time with my family and cats too, ha. I think I am a bit older than you - I am 66 - but I like the things you write about. 😸

Thank you again for visiting this blog and welcome back to Japan! Speaking of Chiba, I think there is a beautiful rose garden with lots of cats(https://www.dreaming-place-garden.com/). Are you going to visit there?
You don't have to make your political views clear to comment here. I am not a political person at all, but I personally think the world will get used to Mr T thinking "Oh, well, that guy says something (radical, nice, innovative or stupid, depending on your point of view) again" and learn how to "deal" with him. But I am not sure if our Prime Minister Ishiba will do as well as our late PM Shinzo Abe.
Anyway, have a safe and nice stay in Japan! I'm sure the locals won't eat you!
I was going to forget to tell you that, after more than half a century, I am surprised at how little my tastes have changed in all these years. What I am curious about and looking forward to now is exactly what I was interested in and excited about when I was a schoolgirl. I still have a lot of fun with these things for a small amount of money, just like my much younger self.
