Cherry Blossoms 20252025/04/03

Maizuru Park was very crowded even though it was a weekday.
To my surprise, most of the visitors looked very young (I know at my age, basically most people are younger than me) and probably many of them seemed to be the "inbound".
So flamboyant. Like an EXPO site or something.
In fact, until recently, this park was a rather deserted place. You wouldn't have thought that this park could be so popular. There used to be a lot of  "blue tents" in which homeless people sheltered. I wonder where they have gone and if they are happy where they are now.

Meanwhile, I enjoyed the flower on my way to shopping,

and, as usual, from a local Mr. Donuts.

It has been a while since you have posted. Are you back in Hokkaido? We did visit Chiba Prefecture in May. Everybody was kind except a young teenage girl loudly commented “Go home.” I noticed but didn’t respond because I didn’t care. We had some good food, saw some sights, and bought a few small things to bring home. One thing we experienced was wind like I had never felt before. It was very strong! I looked at my old passport and the newer one and counted the stamps. I have been to Japan 19 times since 2010. If I ever return, my first stop will be Oka Castle in Oita - but returning is doubtful. Ever since my daughter went through brain cancer and treatment there have been some issues with travel. At least now I purchase travel insurance just in case. I hope you are doing well.

Diane San,
Thank you for remembering me and this blog. And sorry for this extremely late reply.
Well, I have been busy lately, or rather, become even more hopeless at time-management. I tend to find myself chatting with Copilot while I could have done more meaningful things.
.For some reasons, I won't tell you where I am now (Don't worry I am not in prison). Being well, except for getting older and its side effects.
Sorry for the disgusting experience you have had in Chiba. As you may well have noticed, Japan is no longer the Japan you knew from your past travels. So sad, but it's a hard reality we have been facing lately. I

Ah, so good to know you are not in prison! Just kidding. I don’t need to know your location. I was just asking because I knew you spent time in Hokkaido to escape the heat in Fukuoka. Whatever you are doing and wherever you are I hope you are feeling fine and doing well.

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your understanding. I am not on a secret mission, obviously. I hope you are doing well and your daughter feeling better now. A message from the Far East!
