Sorry for being irregular, but we are proud of our taste!!
At the end of summer we have brief period when figs are on the market. When I was a child I didn’t understand the meaning of the fruits’ existence, though fig trees were planted in many backyards.
Recently, however, due to land shortage, or because it may have become unfashionable to plant them, we hardly see fig trees in someone’s garden.

As I got older, I have acquired a taste for figs. They go well with yoghurt with honey. During this period, between peaches and pears, it gave me a headache to find soft fruit to have with yoghurt. But from this year I will be able to get through until pears are available.

I bought these from a streetside greengrocer probably selling harvests from her garden (there were only aubergines and figs on the display). So their shape is a bit irregular, but ripen perfectly on the tree, the taste is delightful with full of flavour.
