Hopefully...2017/08/13

red sun

Although the temperature still reaches over 33 Celsius during daytime, in the morning and evening, we no longer need air-con and evening walk has been feeling really comfortable and enjoyable for the past few days .

The sky looks clearer and waves are getting higher. There have been new sweet potatoes on the supermarket shelves. All signal that autumn is approaching.

Am I too optimistic to assume we are at the threshold of autumn (=the end of summer)?

You have not posted anything for months, Unagiinu. What’s up in Fukuoka? My daughter and I traveled to Nagano and Gunma Prefectures last October/November and saw all the Sanada Maru sites there. We liked that Taiga Drama - I especially loved Masao Kusakari as Matsuyuki Sanada! This Oct/Nov we had planned to visit Shizuoka and the nearby area because of Naotora, but we were forced to cancel our trip because my daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer in August. She is currently in treatment. (I did continue studying the Japanese language and I still am, but obviously I can’t give it the same attention as I once did.) I hope you and the cats of Fukuoka are well.

Hello Unagiinu, you have not posted in a while. I hope you and family are doing well. I have been studying Japanese for over a year now (and understand there’s tons more to learn) but I am happy with the small progress I have made. My daughter and I had our last trip to Japan in Oct/Nov 2016 to Nagano and Gunma Prefectures to see all things related to the Sanada Clan. We loved the Taiga “Sanada Maru.” I loved Masao Kusakari as Masayuki Sanada!! We were going to the Shizuoka area in Oct/Nov 2017 but we had to cancel our trip because my daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer. She has been in treatment since Sept. It is very serious, but we have had some hopeful news - the tumor has shrunk. So many prayers! If she is well enough we will try to return to Japan someday. I miss your blog and your comments!

First of all, I am sorry for your daughter's illness. Please let me pray for her recovering.

And would you please accept my apology for leaving this blog for such a long time and replying your warm and encouraging comment, despite the fact that you spent your precious time for reading and commenting on this blog despite that you are in such a situation?

I and (possibly) the local cats are fine. I have just been unexpectedly busy (by my standard) jugling with this and that.

Thank you for the encouraging comments. I will try to do my best to keep blogging this year.

Again, I hope you and everyone around you will have a great 2018, and you will enjoy your returning trip to Japan in the near future!!
