A Fukuokan in Tokyo1: Paint It Black ― 2010/03/21
The history of this temple can date back to some 320 years ago.
By the way, I was wrong thinking that this kind of buildings should be unpainted or painted in red and gold. This one is all painted with black lacquer. Was it in vogue to paint a whole temple in black when this was built?
