Winter Beach2020/12/23

as usual
The beach was quite quiet today.
4/18
It looked like this in April.

Where have these people who made the beach hellishly crowded in spring gone?

I guess they are enjoying winter vacation exploiting the "Go-To" discounts, not realizing it is ultimately the government's debt and we will have to pay it back in the form of tax in the (very near, probably in my lifetime) future.

Today's Find @ 100-Yen Store2020/12/24

I didn't know Daiso sells even anti-static sprays at 110 yen/bottle (including tax).
Although the size is smaller than its national-brand counterpart, the ingredients looks quite similar (what is the difference between cationic surface active agent in the national- brand one and nontitle surface active agent in the 110-yen generic?).

I've just realized that the main ingredient of both sprays is everyone's current favourite ethanol. So, can I expect a bit of anti-virus effect from these sprays?

What Happened?2020/12/26

What are going on with avocados and kiwis? They were sold at  unreasonably low prices this week.
I bought three avocados this week alone at; 92 yen on Monday, 89 yen on Wednesday and 59 yen (the lowest record in my entire avocado-shopping history )today. They did not seem to be categorized as second or third-class quality. They actually looked nicer than ones sold at 198 yen a couple of weeks ago.

Then, prices of kiwis are madly low as well. I usually buy a pack of four kiwis at 398 yen, if it is 298 yen, I would be very pleased. But recently, a pack of 10 costed around 548 yen and finally, there are mega packs containing at least 15 fruits at 598 yen. I am not talking about Costco. Is this because of the soured relationship between Australia and China? Have kiwis that had lost their destinations drifted to Japan?

Notes for Shopping in New Year2020/12/26

Just for my shopping in the fist week of 2021.

Store open from 1 January:
AEON.
Open from 3 January:
Marukyo,
Gooday,
Bon Repas and
Nishitetsu Store.

Praliva opens on 2 January.
Eruroku opens on 5 January.

However, as 3 Junuary is Sunday, serious shopping could only be commenced from 4 or 5 at earliest.

Department stores? There is no such a store in my mind now.

It should also be noted that post offices close from 31 December to 3 January.  On the first  opening day, 4 January, there should be long queues at the windows as well as ATMs.

A Very Graphic Depiction2020/12/27

I understand we have to very careful when visiting public library now.
picky?
This notice (picture below↓) tell us there are people who still lick their fingers when flicking book.
matter of the public health
I found this at the newspaper section in a local library (in other words, pensioners' paradise), but I began to feel scared to even touch library books after seeing this.
