The Least Useful Guide to Fukuoka

I found a new walking route.

There is a big bridge on my walking route and I assumed there was no crossing on/nearby the bridge.

So I walked some extra 1,000 steps to go to the other side of the road at the nearest crossing with traffic right.  

But Today I saw someone appearing out of nowhere around the entrance of the bridge.

So I ventured to take a different turn, and found a small cave-like pedestrian tunnel.

Looks safe, and I stepped ahead,

then reached the other side of the road with less than 100 steps. Surprise!

I went on and came across the back of Fukuoka Detention Centre.

I didn’t know around the detention centre was a quiet residential area which does not give an impression that there are bad (or suspected as bad) people confined in the very close vicinity. There was a little playground where a cat was leisurely walking around.  

A very peaceful view…only if capital punishments do not take place (probably, as I don’t know which area of the centre is used for such purpose) within only a few metres…
